The dryer lint is one that gets pulled out from the back of the dryer and there's a little space behind it with wire/etc to keep everything where it is supposed to be. I felt around and noticed that lots of lint had gotten stuck in that space and decided to clean it out. There were handfuls of lint... After it was all clean the next load was stuck into the dryer and wah-la! It was dry the first time around. Next load... no.
Tim and I just kept dealing with it and saying that we should call maintenance. Finally it got to the point that this last weekend as I tried to do laundry there was one load took a whole 3 times in the dryer! That is ridiculous. What was in the washer ended up hang drying inside (luckily it was a small load, otherwise Tim was going to drop it off at Mum & Pops house on his way to work that night).
Sometime on Monday, Tim let maintenance know that they need to come out and fix our dryer since the clothes weren't getting dry. Wednesday they came over, hooray! Turns out that a bird had decided to make a nest inside of the dryer hose. No wonder clothes weren't getting dry. The nest is now gone and hopefully they make it more difficult for a bird to fly up into where our dryer vents out to. Lesson learned for next time: if the dryer isn't working, call maintenance right away. There's no need to torture some poor bird.
Umm...Yah! Call maintance. That way it get's fixed right away. Although if you live at our apartment it may take months to fix, but hopefully a big payout is in reach. Love Yah!
