Friday

Yesterday was a full day as Tim and I spent all the time that we could together before he left for drill today and then 2 weeks of AT on Monday. Luckily, that wasn't too difficult (aside from his extreme tiredness) since I had no classes and neither of us had work.
He woke me up with a kiss once he got home from work that morning at 7am and then let me continue to sleep in. While I was sleeping, Tim got his uniform ready and gathered up a few more things he needed before continuing to work on coloring more characters for that online video game.
Little while after I woke up we decided to make it over to Friday Forum at Institute. I'm still in school and it's a good place to be :) Free lunch afterwards was a bonus too. Lots of unfamiliar faces for both of us, but there were still people we each know: our friend Orange (ok, his name is really David), his friend Brian & his wife (the Trulls), and my friend Cameron. Sometime in the future we should get to do FHE with the Trulls!
Tim ended up needing a bit of a nap that afternoon since he was waaaaaaaaay exhausted. Who would've thought being up 23 hours would do that? Needless to say, he was NOT ready when I woke him up an hour later like he requested haha. We then proceeded to gather up what seemed like all of his Marine stuff to be put into his car for drill today. Turns out that they are inspecting a lot of their stuff this time. So glad that he's not having to change that many times this weekend. It gets really old, really fast.
My friend Sarah got married that day so we went to her reception which turned out to be at a place really close to my school (meaning a good half hour away from Ecuaco). When she told me it was at a barn, I was expecting a full out barn like you'd go and visit in elementary school to see all the animals. It was much more fancy than that. It's called a barn because of the structure of the building, but that's about it. Needless to say, it was gorgeous and felt like any other reception hall only scaled smaller. Oh and her dress was really pretty too. After getting home and picking up some Panda Express on the way, Tim was more than ready for bed and fell asleep within minutes of lying down in bed. I love him so much and will be sad to see him go.. But I know that he'll be back :) it was still hard to sleep. Hopefully Sunday night allows me sleep!
We still have not heard back from the Tempe P.D. but are ok with that. It's been a long time since any of the departments here have been hiring so there were probably lots of applicants. We also remembered that we have lots of blessings, aren't starving, able to enjoy some luxuries, and that there may be some who need it more than we do. Plus, it isn't the only P.D. in the area that he can try to apply for. Other job openings will pop up :)

Today is the 9th anniversary of the Twin Towers collapsing. Let's remember all who were impacted by 9/11.

  1. Scratch that! Tonight we got a letter from Tempe, and he gets to go onto the next part of the hiring process! Not all the way there, but at least partially. We also need to see if they'll make some accommodations since the next part happens during his 2 weeks of AT.
